That Shadow is Mount Sharp’s first release in six years following 2014’s Weird Fears EP. The Brooklyn by way of Portland, ME band have spent the time further refining their pop-centric indie rock, a sort of Fleetwood Mac meets Dinosaur Jr approach. Their fuzzed out, heart on sleeve songs linger with you long after Sarah Wood’s sugary vocals have faded, melodies firmly within your consciousness. Their new rhythm section help push the band’s more reflective direction - less “energy and chaos”, more focus.
