The Young Couples started as the studio project of Ian Proper (ex-Sports), and on their debut EP he’s backed by a cast of Rochester, NY’s finest musicians. A veritable power pop supergroup featuring members of Cherry Glazerr (Secretly Canadian, Burger Records) , Pleistocene, Howlo (City Of Quality), and more - The Young Couples deliver classic pop that wouldn’t have been out of place on the Stiff Records roster, except for the fact that few of those bands would have included string parts on any of their songs.  Comparisons to Elvis Costello and Any Trouble are apt - smart songs, clever hooks and irresistible, driving instrumentation.
